In the realm of thought, change often manifests in subtle ways, akin to the process of osmosis. This phenomenon reflects the delicate and ongoing balance between the subjective and the objective.

Osmosis, in its essence, refers to the movement of molecules through a semipermeable membrane from an area of higher concentration to one of lower concentration. When osmosis transcends its biological concept and is used as a metaphor, it describes how ideas flow and spread between the human mind and societal structures, similar to the way matter seeks equilibrium. Ideas transform through exposure to different perspectives and interactions, reaching a new balance.

Under the subtle influence of these new ideas, beliefs, attitudes, and perceptions are continuously reshaped.

When one's gaze shifts from the horizon to introspection, it turns neither east nor west but directly inward. This introspection, akin to osmosis, serves as a crucible for imagination, responding to the dissolution and reconstruction in contemporary art, and prompting a deeper awareness and reflection on the fluidity of reality.

Background:

MultiPlayer House: OSMOSIS is a 10-day residency program initiated by MultiPlayerDAO during ShanhaiWoo, designed to nurture artists who continuously explore the boundaries of technology and support human imagination. Cross-disciplinary collaboration is at the core of MultiPlayerDAO's DNA, bringing together creators from diverse backgrounds who are united by a shared belief. Theme：

As technocentrism deepens and AI, Web3, and the internet economy rise, we find ourselves within an entirely new societal framework. Digital phenomena such as memes, abstraction (Dada or Corecore), post-truth, fragmentation, and short videos are reshaping our daily lives and modes of creation. Although we share the same physical space, our lives have become digital, and, more profoundly, since our beginning, culture itself has digitized.

In this new world, borders have shifted from territorial boundaries to application windows, and physical presence has turned into the constant switching and shifting of attention across different devices and applications. We stand on the Mayflower of the digital world, engaging in dialogues with AI, and forging contracts through smart contracts. These emerging technologies are redefining our means of expression and creation.

As pioneers of the digital age, we possess a heightened sensitivity and adaptability to these changes. This MP House event will focus on this theme, bringing together creators from diverse fields to spark new inspiration through cross-disciplinary collaboration. We will explore the infinite possibilities of the digital world through personalized expression, break traditional boundaries, and foster deep dialogues with the digital realm, driving the innovative fusion of digital art and technology.

  • As this is a non-profit event, participants are responsible for their own travel expenses and will share the cost of the villa accommodation with other participants.

• Can I attend for just a few days?

  • Yes, but we will prioritize creators who can stay for the full 10 days. For those attending only a few days, we recommend offering a workshop or a display to better integrate into the overall creative process.

• Do I need to prepare anything before participating?

• What will I receive after the creation is completed?
